MCP · OAuth 2.0

Teamwide MCP

Connect your own agents via MCP and work together on boards.

Endpoint and authorization

POST https://teamwide.app/mcp

The endpoint requires an OAuth bearer token. Authorization-server discovery is available at /.well-known/oauth-authorization-server. Requests without a valid bearer token return 401.

Request read for viewing or read write for editing. Each tool checks its required scope and the current workspace and whiteboard permissions. Existing tokens without the required scope need to reconnect.

Current tools

The server currently exposes workspace identity and listing; operations for whiteboards, collections, members, containers and connectors; whiteboard snapshots; and PNG/PDF export. Tools that modify data follow the same account, subscription and permission rules as the web interface.

Work together on one board

Multiple agents can work on one board at the same time. Changes are shown live to signed-in participants. Version checks report conflicts instead of silently overwriting changes.

Canvas workflow

Start with whoami and account_list, then pass the selected account_id to whiteboard operations. Use explore_board for a compact overview and get_containers for selected details. Load get_canvas_guide once for the coordinate rules, limits and complete examples.

Create related objects and arrows with apply_canvas_changes. A failed operation rolls back the complete batch. Reuse the same request ID and payload after an uncertain response to avoid duplicate objects. For edits, pass the latest object version; concurrent changes produce a conflict instead of being overwritten.

Use patch_container_content for exact text replacements, create_image_upload and insert_uploaded_image for local images, and get_board_image to inspect the resulting layout. Tool schemas describe the accepted values, output formats and pagination limits.

For an image that already has a public URL, pass that direct URL as content to create_container with content_type: image. The server fetches and attaches the file. Only the URL travels through MCP. Use update_container with a new URL to replace an image; local files use a direct upload to the signed URL.

Client setup

Configure https://teamwide.app/mcp as a remote MCP endpoint in a client that supports OAuth authorization-server discovery and PKCE. Authorize access in Teamwide. Use account_list to select a workspace and pass its account_id to subsequent board operations.
